Taittinger Comtes de Champagnes Rose 2009
This has a stunning bronze and orange hue, with a touch of pink at the finish. The aromas are a delicate blend of dried strawberry, orange peel, and orange blossom, along with hints of other floral notes. Medium to full body, this offers a smooth, creamy texture, fine bubbles, and a lovely, lingering finish. Subtle flavors of pie crust and biscuit emerge towards the end, adding depth. Despite its richness, it maintains a remarkable complexity and a distinctly vinous character.
Originally known as Forest-Fourneaux, the estate's history dates back to 1734. In 1932, Pierre Taittinger acquired the House, marking the beginning of the Taittinger label. Over the course of a century, the brand experienced remarkable growth, eventually becoming one of the largest producers. Today, it remains one of the last major independent, family-owned Champagne Houses. Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger retired in 2019, and his daughter, Vitalie, took over as President. The family owns 288 hectares of vineyards, with the signature Taittinger style being defined by a high proportion of Chardonnay. In 2017, Taittinger earned two environmental certifications: ‘Viticulture Durable en Champagne’ (Sustainable Vine-Growing in Champagne) and Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE – High Environmental Sustainability).
