Duluc de Branaire Ducru 2017 St-Julien

With a near-even split of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the 2017 Duluc de Branaire strikes a fine balance between structure and generosity. Layers of ripe dark fruit are lifted by delicate floral notes on the nose, while 12 months in French oak lend depth and complexity without overpowering its natural elegance. The palate is round and fleshy, showcasing the richness of the fruit, with smooth, finely judged tannins leading into a long, aromatic finish. Savoury, satisfying, and unmistakably Saint-Julien in style. Drinking very well now and would be awesome with roast lamb.

The second wine from Chateau Branaire-Ducru, both wines are crafted to express a distinctive "home style." A portion of the vineyard, including the younger vines, contributes to the creation of Duluc de Branaire-Ducru. The wine ages for 12-months in French oak barrels, and is carried out with the same meticulous attention to detail and spirit as with Branaire-Ducru, ensuring that it reflects the estate's dedication to quality and precision.
