2020 was the hottest summer since 1959, but the rains came just in time and harvest for this wine was just 2 weeks earlier than usual. Subtle hints of green pepper, from the Cabernet Franc, weave through aromas of ripe black fruits—especially blackcurrant—alongside notes of toasted, spiced oak. The palate is elegant and refined, with a fresh, juicy character and silky tannins providing structure. It’s a wine of quiet confidence, graceful and composed.

With roots stretching back to the 12th century, Château du Tertre is a historic Margaux estate with a prestigious pedigree. Its 50 hectares of vineyards are ideally located on one of the highest hills in the Margaux commune—Tertre meaning "knoll" in French. The estate shares borders with esteemed neighbours such as Cantenac-Brown and Brane-Cantenac to the north, and Giscours to the east.

In 2021, the Albada Jelgersma family sold the property to a French institutional investor. Today, it is managed by the Helfrich family, part of Les Grands Chais de France, ensuring a new chapter in the estate’s long and storied legacy.
