Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2020 Pauillac
The 2020 vintage showcases the estate’s hallmark elegance and depth. It offers layers of cassis, black cherry, and blueberry fruit, laced with graphite and hints of mint, earth, and sweet spice. On the palate, it’s brilliantly structured with a fresh core of blueberry and an underlying minerality. Pichon Comtesse wines are known for their sensuous texture and expressive aromatics—earth, tobacco, and cassis rising gracefully from the glass. Consistently one of the standout wines in Pauillac, it combines power with finesse, and rewards careful cellaring.
Château Pichon Comtesse de Lalande, one of Pauillac’s most iconic Second Growths, has 102ha of vines - primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (77%), Merlot (17%) and Cabernet Franc (6%), with a small portion of Petit Verdot - in a privileged position near the Gironde Estuary, in the southern part of the appellation. This proximity to the estuary provides a unique microclimate that has proved especially beneficial in recent vintages.
