Chateau La Fleur Cravignac 2018 St-Emilion Grand Cru
Chateau La Fleur Cravignac is a super tasty, ripe wine which is packed with blackberry fruit and lighter red fruit flavours. The wine is fully deserving of its Grand Cru status and displays that magic balance of elegance, finesse and complexity. The wine is fermented in stainless steel vats and matured in new French oak for 18 months. It is a great wine from this fantastic region.
Located 1 km to the northeast of the town of St Emilion, this 8-hectare Chateau is made up of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The complex soils are made up of shallow clay-limestone, clay sand, shell debris and silt topsoil over a limestone subsoil. It is a rather unassuming Chateau compared to some of its neighbours but what the Chateau lacks in grandeur is made up for in the wine itself. No herbicides are used on the estate.
