Boal de Arousa is a family-owned and run winery which was started by Anselmo and Pura Tarrio in 1985. They replanted an historic plot of land called Vina de Louro which is a gentle hill surrounded by oak trees and Atlantic pines situated in the bay of Arousa in Galicia in North-West Spain. The wine is now made by their son, Jorge who just makes one wine from this single vineyard (Vina de Louro) which is named after its yellow soil, composed of quartz, clay and granite.

Boal de Arousa Albarino is a beautifully fresh and intense wine with a lovely balance of fleshy white fruit, fresh saline notes and subtle herbs on the finish. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and is aged on its lees for seven months before bottling. It is a wonderful match with fresh fish or is perfect as an aperitif.
