The Foundry Grenache Blanc by Chris Williams is a delicious and tangy wine with expressive floral and fruit aromas. Beautiful white stone fruit dominated with creamy lemon and lime notes on the finish. It is a very pure wine with great mineral balance and rich, fleshy mouthfeel.
The Foundry is one of South Africa’s most exiting wineries. It was established in 2001 by Chris Williams and James Reid. Chris combined his work at the Foundry between 2004 and 2019 with his full-time job as cellar master at Meerlust Estate where he was making some of South Africa’s finest wines. The Foundry is now based at James’s family farm at Paardeberg at Staart and is Chris’s focus now. Fruit is sourced from a variety of excellent vineyards which Chris has long term contracts with. Some are just for specific rows within a vineyard such is Chris’s desire to source the finest possible fruit. These wines will just keep getting better.
