Albarino ‘Barrica’ Terra de Asorei is a complex, intense and utterly delicious Albarino which is made from grapes grown in the Salnes Valley, a premium sub region of Rias Baixas in Spain’s Northwest. It is a small parcel of 3000 bottles which has spent six months in old oak barrels. The oak ageing adds a lovely texture and intensity to the wines vibrant, fruity core which is dominated by stone fruit and more tropical fruit notes. The wine retains its characteristic freshness and salinity whilst achieving a complexity that takes Albarino to the next level.
Terra de Asorei is a modern, forward-thinking winery located in the Galicia region of Rias Baixas in the Northwest of Spain. The Albarino grape variety thrives here in this cooler, Atlantic influenced corner of Spain (I.e., it rains a lot). Terra de Asorei farms 60 hectares of vineyards aged between 15 & 80 years old in the sub-region of the Salnes Valley. The winery as we know it today was formed in 2008 when six families, who had previously worked together as a mini co-operative, joined together to form one company. They are committed to the sustainable, humane and socially responsible production of high quality Albarino.
