Sylvain Bzikot Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru 'Les Folatieres' is amongst the very best wines from the region. The wine has amazing purity and grace along with an intensity of flavour, texture and fruit structure that really sets it apart. Like all of Sylvain’s wines, it is opulent and almost decadent to drink with precise citrus fruit, fresh minerality, integrated oak flavours and subtle spice notes. Fabulous wine.
Domaine Sylvain Bzikot maybe one of the lesser-known names in Puligny Montrachet, but the quiet and reserved Sylvain lets his wines, rather than a PR machine do the talking. The Domaine was started by Sylvain’s grandfather, a Polish emigrant, who arrived in Puligny just before the 2nd World War with nothing but the clothes he stood up in. From those very humble beginnings this family Domaine has managed to acquire an impressive 4 hectares of some of the most valuable agricultural land in the world, namely Puligny-Montrachet and Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru. They own a further 9 hectares of “regional appellation” vineyards which produce Bourgogne Blanc, Aligoté and Bourgogne Pinot Noir.
