Mahi Pinot Gris is a deliciously texture wine with soft peach and fleshy stone fruit flavours. The fruit is lovely and ripe with tropical notes, mango and a nice touch of honeysuckle on the finish. Aromatic yet fresh and dry on the palate. Great wine to go with some spicy food or sip on its own.
Mahi was founded at the turn of the last century by Brian & Nicola Bricknell. Brian had worked for 15 years as a wine maker around the world, before returning to Marlborough to start his own project. Brian wanted to showcase, not only Marlborough’s regional characteristics, but also focus on unique, high quality, single vineyard plots. They now have eight individual vineyard sites which are planted with specific varieties to suit each plot. The resulting wines have an air of elegance, texture and complexity, which are utterly delicious.
