Graham’s 1977 is finally nearing the start of its drinking window! There is a Christmas feel to the wine with dried fruit, cherry and ginger spice notes. Toffee and fig notes on the palate with dark chocolate and black fruit. Wonderful stuff.
Graham’s is one of the biggest names in the Douro valley and is famous for producing full, rich Ports. The company, of Scottish origin was formed in the early nineteenth century and was involved in the textile industry. Becoming a Port shipper happened by accident when they accepted 27 pipes of Port as payment for a bad debt. The heady liquid went down a treat in Glasgow and the textile part of the business went out the window. To this day, they remain one of the benchmark Port producers.
