Warre’s Otima 10-Year-Old Tawny Port (50cl)
Warre’s Otima 10-Year-Old Tawny Port is a lighter and fresher style of Tawny with delicious mature red fruit flavours along with lifted notes of stone fruit and apricot. The palate has lots of dried fruit, nut and Christmas cake flavours along with toffee and toasted aromas. The Optima range was created by Warre’s to try and dispel the ‘Old School’ reputation of Port being a heavy, after dinner drink. It works brilliantly chilled and is very much an any day, any time style of Port.
Warre’s is the oldest British Port house, founded in 1670 by William Burgoyne and John Jackson. By 1791 Warre’s accounted for 10% of Port shipments out of Portugal. Today, Warre’s are famous for producing an opulent style of Port which has great elegance and freshness. Production is centred on their best vineyards at the cool Quinta Cavadinha, which sits at a high altitude in the mountains.
