Cellar defenders are your special bottles vital last line of protection from being consumed too young or by accident at 11.30pm when one final drink is called for. These are the bottles that you can turn too when you want something super delicious and are considering opening a special bottle even though, deep down, you know that bottle is not ready and it’s a Tuesday night and you’re having quiche for dinner. These wines are all excellent, amazing value, easily replaced, are drinking superbly and will deliver loads of enjoyment. They really come into their own later in the day when some special bottles may have already been consumed, spirits are high, judgment is poor and someone suggests opening a Lafite 82 or your last bottle of Cristal 1990 signed by Zinedine Zidane even although nobody is in a fit state to enjoy it. So, if you don’t want to be drinking Leoville Barton 1996 from a mug at 2am, then I’d highly recommend having this case in the house.
