Port of Leith Distillery Manzanilla
Port of Leith Distillery Manzanilla is a typically bone-dry wine with fresh lemon, peach, apple and nutty aromas all wound round a saline core. The wine is made and aged in the coastal town of Sanlucar de Barrameda where it picks up its distinctive tang that sets it apart from other Fino styled Sherries.
Port of Leith distillery is one of the most eye-catching developments that Leith docks has ever seem. My description won’t do it justice, so you are better off checking it out here www.leithdistillery.com Impressive as a building, but even more impressive when you consider that there is a distillery spread over several floors within it! In their search for Port and Sherry barrels to age the Whisky in, the boys thought it would be fun to also buy the wine that was originally in the barrels. This has forged a strong relationship between both Martha’s Family Estate in the Douro and Bodegas Baron in Jerez and allows consumers to see the work of the barrel at different stages of its life.
