Chateau Pichon Baron 2020 Pauillac

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 76%, Merlot 24%. The 2020 has the addition of more Merlot than previous vintages, but this juiciness comes across nicely to balance out the tannic Cabernet Sauvignon. This will be stunning when ready to drink 2030-2050.

Château Pichon-Longueville Baron was founded in the 17th Century and became a distinguished 2ème Cru Classé estate in Pauillac in 1855. It is celebrated as one of Bordeaux's most renowned Super Seconds. Acquired by the AXA Millésimes Group in 1987, the estate has since seen significant investment, including the construction of a cutting-edge winery, fermenting room and barrel cellar, with the famous Chateau also undergoing renovation in 1988.

The estate's 73ha vineyard, planted with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc, lies on deep gravel soils and is known for its power and structure, big tannins and full body.
