Chateau Lynch Bages 2019 Pauillac
Based on 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot with the remaining 6% being Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Aged in 75% new French oak, it has an incredible aroma of blackcurrant, cedar, flowers, smoke and graphite. The tannins are perfectly integrated and will keep softening out with the alcohol and acidity. This really is a standout wine from Lynch-Bages. It should keep evolving for another 40-50 years if you can keep your hands off it that long!
One of the most famous of the Bordeaux Chateaux, Lynch Bages, which has been owned by the Cazes family for nearly a century, has maintained it's high standards ever since. Jean Charles, Jean-Michel Cazes' son, has now taken the helm and his recent vintages have been something else. This Chateau never lets you down.
