The vineyard of Château Kalian is 10 km south of Bergerac on the left bank of the Dordogne River and is located in Monbazillac.
Kalian's Monbazillac is made from white grapes grown on 9 hectares at the estate and is a blend of Sémillon (85%) and Muscadelle (15%).
Harvest is done completely by hand and it is like no other. Instead of harvesting fresh plump ripe fruit, they pick only the berries and portions of the clusters that have been colonized by noble rot! Once pressed and fermented, the wonderful resulting sweet wine is opulent, with marmalade orange and yellow fruit flavors and a fine cut of acidity to keep it all in balance.
Chateau Kalian has been certified as Organic for almost 10 years.
