Chateau Belle-Vue 2014 Haut-Medoc
Chateau Belle-Vue 2014 is a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 20% Petit Verdot. It is an approachable wine with a rich and powerful nose of dark black fruit, cassis and damson. The palate is lush and opulent with bramble fruit perfectly intermingled with leather and attractive sweet spice notes. A classy glass.
Chateau Belle-Vue is now widely regarded as one of the best Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnels. It is a 15ha (14.99ha according to their website!) estate that enjoys an enviable position next to Chateau Giscours just west of Macau and stands out for its relatively high percentage (20%) of Petit Verdot in the final blend. The soils are deep, fine gravel and the average age of the vines are 39 years old. The estate also has an HVE-3 certificate which is one of the highest possible and confirms their commitment to environmentally friendly viticulture.
