Chablis 1er Cru 'Cote de Lechet' Domaine Jean Dauvissat 2013
Domaine Jean Dauvissat owns four parcels of vines in the Chablis 1er Cru Climat of Cotes de Lechet. The vineyards are on pour and rocky soil that face south east for full sun exposure and dominate the village of Milly below. It is a particularly full bodied expression of Chablis with a few years bottle age that gives a wine of immense character and complexity. The 2013 is still fresh and zesty, full of crushed lime and dry stone flavours. Get it whilst you can!
The Domaine is run by Jean’s grandson Fabien. Fabien is a young and extremely talented winemaker. His wines are instantly appealing due to a long elevage which gives the wines texture, intense fruit but with the underlying minerality that makes them fresh and vibrant. It is a modern and true expression of this famous region and we are really pleased to have Fabien’s wines. Just to confirm – he is no relation to any other Dauvissats from Chablis!
