Casa Silva Cool Coast Sauvignon Gris 2021
Casa Silva Sauvignon Gris 'Cool Coast' is made from grapes sourced from the Paredones vineyards located in the Cool Coastal hills of the Colchagua Valley, just nine kilometres from the Pacific Ocean. The vineyards are strongly influenced by the Humboldt Current, with summer temperatures of up to 25°C (average). It is a superbly aromatic and fresh wine with plenty of aromatic intensity, orange blossom, lemon yellow, white pear, fresh pineapple and bay leaves. Herbaceous characteristics mingle beautifully alongside citrus flavours with a slight hint of salinity at the end.
In 1997, Mario Pablo Silva made a proposal to his father: he wanted to transform his bulk wine business which had been owned by the Silva family since 1892 into a prestige bottling company for export, bearing the family's own name. Mario Silva accepted his son's challenge and Casa Silva was created. In a short space of time, Casa Silva has become one of the most prestigious and awarded producers of premium Chilean wine. They have a pioneering spirit and own enviable vineyard sites throughout the Colchagua region which they match up to individual grape varieties.
