Commonly referred to as ‘Pink Sunshine Wine’, Rose does not necessarily need to be drunk outside, in the sun and only in Summer. However, we are creatures of habit and it seems a rite of passage to stock up on Rose when the weather is a bit warmer. We have four new Roses to the range that deserve a mention….
Chateau La Verriere,
2019 Bordeaux Rose
Chateau La Verriere is an excellent family run estate, situated to the east of Bordeaux. We have been so happy with the Verriere Blanc and Rouge, we felt that it would be rude not to get the Rose in for summer.
This is one of the stand out Roses for us in 2020. Delicious with ripe red summer fruit berry notes, lots of texture and priced a lot more favourably than Provencal equivalents.£11.99
Elixir by Bruno Andreu, 2019 Languedoc Rose
Elixir from the Languedoc is winemaker Bruno Andreu’s ‘savoir faire’ and akin to those on trend Provencal Rose wines with equally glamorous names. Even though light in style, It is made from 100% Syrah which gives the wine a fuller flavour intensity than some Rose wines.
With delicious summer fruit flavours and an ‘Insta’ worthy bottle, we are sure it will be popular over the Summer months. £12.99
Ingrid Groiss Rosé,Ried Hasenhaide 2019 BIO
Hasenhaide means “garden of the hares”- which is where the grapes are grown. This Rose is a blend of Pinot Noir & Zweigelt. We love the delicate salmon pink with a nose of fresh strawberries and ripe cherries. The juicy fruit on the palate marries beautifully with a stony minerality. It goes without saying that we are massive fans of Ingrid and her wines and we are so pleased to bring the Rose into our ever growing range. £12.99
Pfluger Blanc de Noir
2019, Palatinate BIO
This Blanc de Noirs (Pinot Noir Rose) from Pflüger is situated in the German Southwestern, Palatinate region. The grapes come from biodynamic cultivation in different vineyards which Alex Pflüger then carefully blends together to create a perfectly balanced Rose. It is delicate and fragrant with aromas of quince and mirabelle plums, juicy, vital and at the same time light on the palate. £13.99
