Warre’s 1977 is an elegant and mature Port with beautiful plum and honey caramel notes. It has a subtle elegance and underlying class which is a joy to drink. The palate is sweet and spicy with tea notes, roasted notes, orange and caramel behind the cassis and damson fruit. Power and elegance in perfect harmony.
Warre’s is the oldest British Port house, founded in 1670 by William Burgoyne and John Jackson. By 1791 Warre’s accounted for 10% of Port shipments out of Portugal. Today, Warre’s are famous for producing an opulent style of Port which has great elegance and freshness. Production is centred on their best vineyards at the cool Quinta Cavadinha which sits at a high altitude in the mountains.
