Tarquin’s Cornish Pastis is made by Tarquin Leadbetter at his Southwestern distillery in south west England. It is the first pastis to be made in the UK and is Tarquin’s modern take on the classic French aniseed spirit. It is a lovely drink with a splash of water or try it with apple juice for a real treat. It has lovely candied black liquorice, fresh orange zest and freshly picked garden herbs on the nose. Gentle cracked black pepper spice, fresh fennel and fragrant orange blossom on the palate. Very full bodied with creamy texture. Extremely long finish, but with a dryness to it. Lingering herbal complexity, citrus freshness and gentle sweet spice.

It is distilled with:

Turkish aniseed and fennel seed, star anise from China, Liquorice root from Uzbekistan, Polish angelica root, Moroccan orris root, Guatemalian green caramon (Or course!), Madagascan cinnamon (My favourite), Italian juniper along with gorse flowers sourced from nearby Atlantic clifftops and seasonally sourced orange, lemon and grapefruit peel.
