Product Details

Taittinger Folies de la Marquetterie is a wee gem of a Champagne that is not only perfect for idle sipping but is one of the most gastronomic Champagnes I have come across. The bubbles are fine and delicate and the aromatics rich and intense with attractive stone fruit, brioche and jam notes. It is full bodied, fruity, expressive and very complex. The grapes are sourced from Taittinger’s own vineyards, including from the ‘Les Folies’ vineyard which surrounds the Chateau de la Marquetterie.

Champagne Taittinger is the 3rd oldest house in Champagne, having started life in 1743 under the founder’s name, Jacques Fourneaux. It was purchased by Pierre Taittinger in 1932 who changed the name and turned it into one of the best known names in the region. The Taittinger style has always been influenced by Chardonnay and their flagship wine, Comtes de Champagne, is made exclusively from this elegant grape.
