Rosso Piceno DOC Saladini Pilastri 2022

Rosso Piceno from Saladini Pilastri is a marvellous blend of Sangiovese and Montepulciano from the Marche region of Italy. It is one of the richest, juiciest, softest wines on our list. It is packed full of red cherry and bramble berry flavours along with earthy/savoury notes and a lick of mint, all mellowed by 4 months’ ageing in oak barrels. It’s effortlessly brilliant and couldn’t be more Italian if it tried!

Saladini Pilastri is a beautiful estate dating back to the 1400s and really impressed us with their super tasty and affordable range of organic wines. The estate is located in the south of the visually-stunning Marche region, which sits on the east coast of central Italy. The climate here is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers tempered by the maritime influence of the Adriatic Sea only 8km away from the vineyards. All the farming is organic and the winery is equipped with all the latest wine-making mod cons. It helps that at the heart of the estate is a plush mansion house with sweet swimming pool!
