Riedlin Rot is a unique and complex Spatburgunder (Pinot Noir) made by Markus Kuntz. The wine has amazing earthy characteristics behind the dark red fruit along with smoky and savoury notes that make this a quite unique style of Pinot Noir. With its bottle age it has developed into a brilliant bottle of wine.

Weingut Riedlin is owned and run by Markus Kuntz-Riedlin, the husband of leading Mosel producer Sybille Kuntz. The vineyards are in the town of Laufen in southern Baden and have been in the family since 1656. Markus’s speciality is Spatburgunder, or Pinot Noir as it is known outside of Germany, and he produces two wines – a red and a rose. Prior to the 2010 vintage, the grapes had been sold off, but Markus decided to bottle a wine under the Riedlin label for the first time in generations. The vineyards are now farmed organically and the wines made at the Kuntz winery in Mosel.
