San Valentino is a wonderful winery based in the wealthy food lovers paradise of Emilia Romagna. The area is home to Parmigiano Reggiano, Modena balsamic vinegar, Parma ham and specializes in numerous pasta dishes including tortellini and lasagne. The region’s wines are less well known but quality is high. Owner and winemaker Roberto Mascarin can afford to pick his grapes later than his counterparts in other areas of Italy due to the constant sea breeze which prevents rot. The chilly nights help retain acidity in the wine. The wine is bursting with fresh citrus and rich summer fruit.
