Pfluger Durkheim Riesling is a magnificent, dry wine (5.2g/l) which displays a rich array of delicious fruit flavours from citrus, green apple, peach and apricot. The wine has a wonderful structure and a saline edge on the palate which makes it one of the most drinkable wines on our list. Perfect on its own or with seafood, spicy dishes or goats cheese.
The young and dynamic Alexander Pfluger makes the type of wines you just want to drink. Alexander’s father focused on an all-natural approach to wine making back in the day when nobody dared to adopt such a holistic approach and when most hipsters were but a twinkle in their father’s eye. The wines are certified by the Demeter and Ecovin growers associations and Alexander has a real passion for the soil and terroir which is why he uses the Gütswein, Ortswein and Lagenwein labelling system. The wines really blew us away. They are complex and thought provoking but utterly delicious and drinkable at the same time.
