Guy Amiot Bourgogne Aligote Les Grands Champs 2022
This Bourgogne Aligote Les Grands Champs, comes from an 80-year-old vineyard on the border of Puligny-Montrachet, with a Southerly exposure and limestone rich soils. Fermentation is in stainless steel tanks, and a third is aged in old French oak barrels for 12 months. This has a real finesse with intense fruit and freshness.
Domaine Guy Amiot is run today by 4th and 5th generation owner Thierry and Fabrice along with Thierry’s daughter Heloise. The Domaine was founded in the 1920s by Arsene and Flavie Amiot who ran successful businesses in Paris which allowed them to acquire land and buildings in Chassagne Montrachet where their children were raised. Their 2nd son, Pierre, trained as a winegrower and started producing wines from his parents’ vineyards. The Domaine now produces 26 different wines in what has turned out to be one of the worlds elite white wine growing regions. They are even lucky enough to have some vines in the Le Montrachet Grand Cru vineyard.
