Chinon ‘Le Logis de la Bouchardiere’ Bruno Sourdais 2020

Chinon ‘Le Logis de la Bouchardiere’ Bruno Sourdais is made from 100% Cabernet Franc and expresses everything that is so magical about this overlooked grape variety. It is medium bodied, juicy and extremely vibrant with crushed red fruit and perfumed notes on the finished. There is a freshness and ease to the wine which makes it a joy to drink. It is the perfect wine to wash down some charcuterie or a light luncheon. This blend comes from 35 year old vines on the plain beside the Vienne and sees a bit of oak aging in old barrels.

Bruno Sourdais is the 6th generation of the family to make wines at this fantastic estate that has three quarters of its 55 hectares located on the slopes and plateau above the commune of Cravant, Chinon and Panzoult. Vinification is very traditional and all of his wines see a little time in oak.
