Chateau du Glana 2014 is a fantastic blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot. It has super pure fruit aromas of cassis, blueberry and raspberry which are dark and glossy in the glass. The palate is generous and velvety with dark fruit, herbal notes, smoke and dark chocolate but also has amazing freshness. Fine tannins, in a lovely place and very classy.

Chateau du Glana is a lovely property which is owned and run by the Meffre family who bought the winery in 1961. It is located on the Route des Grands Vins between the villages of Beychevelle and Saint-Julien, just opposite Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou. The estate has grown over the years as vineyards were purchased from Chateau Lagrange and Chateau Saint-Pierre. Although the estate does not hold a lofty classification is has superb terroir and the quality is superb and getting better. The buildings were completely restored in 2003 and it is a modern operation with strong respect for traditional techniques.
