Chateau Tour de Biot 2019 encapsulates everything that is brilliant about Bordeaux. The wine is light on oak and heavy on vibrant dark red and bright black fruit flavours of plum, dark cherry and cassis. There is a freshness and complexity to the wine which shines through without being overpowered by unnecessary oak flavours. Medium bodied and sure to impress this is a very attractive wine and amazing value.
Chateau Tour de Biot is a right bank property located in La Roquille, just south of the Dordogne split town of Sainte-Foy-la-Grande. Until 1987, when current owner Gilles Gremen took over, the chateau sold its grapes off to local co-operatives. Gilles immediately stopped this, invested heavily in the winery and set about making his own wine. It was a risky decision but one that has paid off for both him and all lovers of delicious, sensibility prices Bordeaux.
