Château Beauregard Ducasse is situated in the south of the Graves AOP. Reaching elevations of up to 112m, it is one of the highest vineyards in the appellation. The land has been owned by the same family since 1850, but it was a farm until the current owner-winemaker Jacques Perromat took over and decided to convert it into a vineyard.Hand-picked grapes from the oldest vines are used, and fermentation takes place in 100% new oak, using a variety of different cooperages, which are mostly French but with a couple of barrels from California (Mendocino), all medium toast. The wine is left on lees for a month. The result is a tangy, limey blend of equal parts Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. It has lovely weight and fantastic mineral notes.
