Casas del Bosque Sauvignon Blanc Reserva is one of the most award-winning Sauvignon Blanc’s in Chile. It is a unique style that is in part due to harvesting at night then leaving the grapes to cold soak on their skins for at least 5 days before being pressed. It has intense aromas of grapefruit, passionfruit and Casablanca’s hallmark notes of jalapeño, with some floral nuances behind. In the mouth, the wine is crisp and refreshing, with clean, citrusy flavours. It’s the perfect everyday wine.
Casas del Bosque was founded in 1993 by Juan Cuneo Solari and was one of the first wineries in the Casablanca Valley. The cool area has the perfect growing conditions for cool climate grape varieties like Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir & Syrah. Casas del Bosque now have 245 hectares of vines in Santa Rosa on the west side of the Casablanca Valley which is dedicated to these varieties. Their Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere are produced from their own 35 year old vines growing in Quinta Tilcoco in the more southerly Rapel Valley where the warmer climate helps ripen the grapes. For us, the wines had the perfect balance of ripe fruit and subtle elegance making them refined rather than sweet fruit bombs.
